This piece was originally painted in collaboration with John Webster of Webster Media House. John is a good friend and an acclaimed Idaho-based photographer who captures striking images of everything from explosive whitewater kayaking and backcountry skiing to ground-shaking civil rights protests. We connected over our mutual love of the outdoors, and desire to protect what’s important. The original photo taken by John took my breath away, Wy’east (the Multnomah name for Mt. Hood) is lit by a fiery sunset. I had my artistic way with the image, and this is what we ended up with.
