Pontoon Peak is a towering, remote 6,634’ peak in Alaska — a full 35 miles from the nearest road, outside of Valdez. It is a backcountry skiers dream, although climbing it can take 8—12 hours depending on conditions, and the mountain has multiple pitches that are of 70° steepness.
