Halibut Haul
Magic always happens when you walk the docks...I was in one of my favorite spots, poking around the Kodiak Harbor, checking out the boats, smelling the salt and fish and diesel. The sound and energy of longliners, seiners, and pot boats prepping for their next trips is infectious. The usual Alaska magic happened, and some guy covered in fiberglass and paint yelled to ask me if I wanted a job. I laughed and told him I had one already, but before I knew it I found my afternoon swept up laughing and baiting hooks with the delightful crew of the F/V ANAPILAR before they headed out to harvest Halibut in the Gulf of Alaska. Life is beautiful, home is anywhere, and new friends are at the end of every dock.
